The boat excursion on the Tárcoles River, a unique destination in Costa Rica. The Guacalillo Estuary and the Tárcoles River offer the opportunity to observe one of the largest populations of American Crocodile (Crocodylus Acutus) in the Americas, discover also the Mangrove area with a high percentage of biodiversity including a large number of aquatic birds and one of the main conservation areas of the most important Red Macaw (Ara Macao) in the country.
As the boat approaches the sandbanks around the river, our passengers will have the opportunity to see up close crocodiles up to five meters long in their wild habitat. In addition, in the mangrove and river area you can find a population of more than 250 different birds such as kingfishers (alcedo atthis), roseate spoonbills (platelea ajaja) Basiliscus (basiliscus sp) grey heron (ardea sinerea), anhingas (anhinga anhinga), blue heron (Egretta caerulea), nocturnal birds and much more.
